Site Access & Facilities
Accessibility
At Dyffryn Dulas CIC, we want people to feel informed, welcomed and supported. We recognise that access needs are different for everyone, so we encourage you to talk to us before booking or attending an activity.
Our detailed access guide
We are currently preparing a detailed bi-lingual online access guide covering the different areas of our site, including routes, gradients, surfaces, facilities and potential barriers. This is a work in progress and will be added to the website as soon as it is ready.
In the meantime, we are very happy to talk you through the site and discuss your individual requirements by email or telephone. If you would prefer to speak by phone, email us with your contact number and a suitable time, and we will arrange to call you.
Planning your visit
We are committed to providing clear information so that you can make an informed decision about whether an event and our facilities are suitable for your needs.
Dyffryn Dulas CIC operates within a historic property and a natural woodland setting. While we are working to improve access, some areas have:
-
Natural gradients and slopes
-
Uneven, soft or loose surfaces
-
Steps or narrow sections
-
Tree roots, vegetation and other natural obstacles
-
Conditions that may change following wet or severe weather
Not every woodland route will be suitable for every visitor. The accessibility of an activity may also depend on its location, format and the weather conditions on the day.
Before an event
Please contact us before attending if you have any access requirements or would like more detailed information. We can discuss:
-
The location and format of the activity
-
Walking distances, gradients and ground conditions
-
Parking and arrival arrangements
-
Seating and opportunities to rest
-
Toilet facilities
-
Mobility, sensory or communication requirements
-
Whether an activity can be adapted
-
Support from a companion, carer or personal assistant
-
Any other information that would help you decide whether the event is right for you
We will always be honest about the limitations of the site and will do our best to make reasonable adjustments where possible.
Overnight accommodation
Where an event includes overnight accommodation, this is provided separately by The Dulas B&B. Its guest bedrooms are located above ground-floor level and there are currently no ground-floor bedrooms. Please contact us before booking so that we can discuss the arrangements in detail.
Website accessibility
We aim to make this website clear, readable and straightforward to navigate on different devices. We use descriptive headings, plain language, readable text and meaningful labels for links and buttons wherever possible.
If you experience difficulty accessing any part of the website, or need information in a different format, please let us know. This might include larger print, a simplified version or information provided by email.
Continuous improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing part of the development of Dyffryn Dulas CIC. We continue to improve our paths, facilities, information and activities as resources allow. Feedback from participants, visitors and partner organisations helps us understand where further improvements are needed.
